DiversCités: au Québec
We present DiversCités au Québec, a collection of several texts to help you discover some of Quebec's French-speaking communities and learn about their culture. These texts are leveled according to our DecodeHabile progression, but also incorporate high frequency words (which are not necessarily decodable at certain levels). For each text, high frequency words are identified to the teacher in a table with proper nouns, vocabulary suggestions, and words of the same family.
We've designed these texts for use with A1, A2 and B1 learners from grade 5 upwards. In fact, since they are written in Ontario, they correspond to the expectations of the Ontario FSL curriculum in grades 5 (all programs) and 9-10 core French.
What's in the DiversCités: au Québec module ?
20 texts of different varieties (personal, informative, narrative, procedural)
Teachers guide (objectives, opening questions, CEFR descriptors, pre and post-reading activities)
Detailed lesson plans (action task, suggested sentence structures)
Oral, reading and writing activities according to ANL (L'approche neurolinguistique)
Chart template for teaching new vocabulary
Images and maps of French-speaking communities
Texts leveled according to the DecodeHabile grapheme-phoneme progression and differentiated by linguistic complexity
Conversation recordings
